Saying 'Thank You' to the Loeries

'Say Thank-you' - an up and coming sound agency based in Cape Town walked away with two Craft awards at the Loeries this year - a gold Craft was awarded to Simon Ringrose (aka Sibot), one of the central producer's at 'Say Thank-You' for his sound composition and design work on Sasol's 'milk', 'plate', and 'fabric' campaign. Markus Smit (aka Markus Wormstorm), another young central producer at Say Thank-you', was awarded a Silver Craft for musical composition and design work on Metro FM's 'Chess' campaign.

Rooted in the DJ/Producer urban scene in Cape Town, Say Thank-you is fast becoming known in the Advertising industry, as the company to choose when looking to access the youth market locally and internationally.

In his address at the Loeries this year Tony Davidson, Creative Director of Wieden + Kennedy UK said "some of it felt very familiar and one got the impression that people had been looking through award annuals", giving the clear message that more original work needs to be seen in South Africa's ad industry - Duncan Ringrose, managing partner at 'Say Thank-you' comments on the company's strong standpoint on copying: "Say Thank-you is strongly opposed to copying sounds from other compositions. We believe that the compositional talent within this country is at a point where it can be tapped into with confidence".

Having been chosen to design sound for campaigns by clients such as Cell C, Metro FM, VW Golf, Sasol, Tiger Brands and (Beacon) FFWD, it is a clear indication that when looking to push sound for the industry forward, Say Thank-you is an agency to watch.
