Comutanet adds zest to Bokomo's Powervite launch

When Bokomo wanted to launch and create awareness for its new product Powervite, a sorghum based instant porridge, the brand team opted for ComutaNet's specialised services to increase sales of the product and boost brand awareness amongst the massive commuter market.

Bokomo embarked on a comprehensive campaign, using effectively branded gazebos, audio trailers, Star Taxi Music cassettes and interior branded buses.

Bokomo, South Africa's leading cereal manufacturer, created Powervite to provide the emerging market with an alternate sorghum based instant porridge. "Powervite is the first product that Bokomo has launched which is aimed primarily at the black market and the first time that we have engaged in a promotional campaign of this nature. We had to ensure that we introduce the product to the correct market by using the right channels and ComutaNet's infrastructure offered the perfect solution," says Mbuso Mabunda, Brand Manager of Bokomo.

During the intense campaign, Bokomo branded ComutaNet audio promotional trailers are travelling through commuter hubs in Port Elizabeth, East London and Kwa-Zulu Natal. Gazebo promotions are taking place in PE, Isipingo; Mdantsane and Pinetown. Select buses are sporting Powervite interior branding and Star Music cassettes will be distributed to 3000 selected taxi drivers.

"We strive to do things right all the time and do them right the first time. We selected ComutaNet as our media partner for this launch as the company has been undisputedly proven as the leader and trendsetter in its field of business," adds Mabunda.
