RIP Brendan Boyle
Former editor of the Daily Dispatch, bureau chief of Reuters South Africa and past executive editor of the Sunday Times, Boyle was apparently diagnosed with cancer about 18 months ago, according to a tweet by member of Parliament Corné Mulder.

Boyle also reportedly sent his CV as part of an application for a Democratic Alliance MP post after leaving the newspaper industry. The application was later withdrawn and Boyle continued to worked as a policy researcher, particularly on land issues.
