The Merchandising License Agreement includes the rights to distribute the full range of official products from the exclusive Rugby Originals, World Cup, Rugby Active and Webb Ellis Cup collections that will be available for supporters wishing to show their colours in the build up to and during one of the world's largest sporting events.

The agreement also includes the use of the Rugby World Cup 2011 Event Mark and the 20 Participating Unions' logos, meaning that supporters in South Africa and Namibia will have access to an exciting range of official Tournament generic and country-specific apparel and merchandise.

Christian Parrello, Chief Executive Officer of Captivity Headwear, said: “While Rugby World Cup 2011 is being hosted in New Zealand, it is a Tournament that is eagerly anticipated by South Africans. We have a proud Rugby heritage and of course as world champions there is added excitement and the Tournament will be very well supported in South Africa.

“We are very excited at the opportunity to provide Rugby fans with products that will allow them to show the world who they support.”

RWCL Commercial Director Huw Morgan added: “Rugby World Cup Limited is delighted to confirm Captivity Headwear as an Official Licensee of Rugby World Cup 2011 merchandise.”

“The awarding of these rights is a key element of the Rugby World Cup 2011 commercial programme. The South African Rugby Community will be able to purchase a broad range of official Rugby World Cup merchandise earlier than for any previous tournament, building anticipation ahead of what promises to be a spectacular event.”

With less than a year and a half until Rugby's showcase tournament kicks off in New Zealand and all but two of the teams confirmed, anticipation is at fever pitch, reflected by the strong global demand for the range of official Rugby World Cup 2011 apparel and merchandise.
