Trendy new mall to open in Polokwane

The R100m Thornhill Shopping Centre in Polokwane, Limpopo, will be opened next Thursday.

The 8730m² convenience shopping centre is situated just off the Duiwelskloof Road.

The centre was built by Atterbury Property in a joint venture with Tysocon Properties, and is Atterbury's first entry into Limpopo. Construction began in February last year.

“This retail space is situated on prime land,” says Micaela van Blerk of Atterbury Property. “The centre can be found on the corner of Veldspaat and the Duiwelskloof roads, close to the R71 that will soon become the route for the N1 diversion. The area known as Bendor is the fastest-growing and most sought-after in Polokwane.”

The initial objective of this retail offering was to provide the community of Polokwane with a trendy and reliable shopping centre that boasted exciting and popular shops and service tenants.

The centre will house a SuperSpar as the anchor tenant, as well as Cappello restaurant, Fruit & Veg City, Clicks, Doccy's Hair Studio, Lathi Tha, Crazy Store and Stax Home Entertainment. New fashion retailers La Loba, Roco Coco and Stiletto will also be tenants.

Banking facilities including Absa and Standard Bank will be available.

“The village-type architecture, which includes the use of natural stone brickwork, has incorporated quality and aesthetically pleasing finishes,” says Van Blerk.

“We were determined to develop a shopping facility where folk could feel relaxed and at home,” says Andre Lombard of Tysocon Properties.
