Nike appoints president

BEAVERTON, USA: Nike announced that Jeanne P. Jackson, 57, a member of its Board of Directors since 2001, has been named to the newly created role of President of Direct to Consumer for the company, effective immediately. Jackson will drive Nike, Inc.'s global retail efforts which include Nike-owned retail stores worldwide, its affiliate retail stores and its digital commerce organisation. She will report to Nike, Inc. President and CEO, Mark Parker.

This newly created position will lead the company's global retail portfolio and direct-to consumer marketing, creating synergy, efficiency and leverage from a management to an operations level for the company. With this appointment, Jackson vacates her Nike, Inc. Board of Directors position.

“Jeanne is one of the most experienced and talented leaders in the retail industry and over the past eight years, she has been a strong and visionary director for our company," said Mark Parker, President and CEO of Nike, Inc. “With her leadership, we will better position the company to execute an integrated retail strategy across our entire brand portfolio providing elevated consumer experiences globally.”

Jackson is Founder and CEO of MSP Capital, a private investment company and was CEO of Walmart.com from March 2000 to January 2002. She served with Gap, Inc., as President and CEO of Banana Republic from 1995-2000, also serving as CEO of Gap, Inc. Direct from 1998 - 2000.

Since 1978, she has held various retail management positions with Victoria's Secret, The Walt Disney Company, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Federated Department Stores. Jackson is the President of the United States Ski and Snowboard Foundation Board of Trustees, and serves on the Board of Advisors of the University of California, Irvine.
