Wacom now in SA

The Johannesburg-based Ripple Effect Consulting is to act as local representatives for Wacom to further develop Wacom's sales and marketing in South Africa, it was announced on Monday, 4 September, 2006. Wacom is one of the world's leading manufacturers of pen tablets and interactive pen displays.

In South Africa, Wacom's aim is to gain a strong foundation in the professional creative market. Says Andrew Lindstrom, MD of Ripple Effect Consulting, "South Africa is an emerging market for Wacom and an exciting prospect as sales in IT infrastructure are increasing constantly and there is room for development in pen awareness in the market.

"We are committed to delivering the best service and support to both Wacom and its customers in South Africa."

Jacques Pieters, newly appointed as channel development manager, will be Wacom's direct contact with customers. Before joining Wacom, he worked as product manager responsible for the business development of Adobe and Wacom products at a leading South African distributor.

Wacom is a global company with its parent company, Wacom Company Ltd, based in Japan and subsidiaries in North America (Wacom Technology Corporation), Germany (Wacom Europe GmbH), the UK (Wacom Components Europe Ltd.), China (Wacom China Corporation), Korea (Wacom Digital Solutions), Australia (Wacom Australia Pty, Ltd), and other local offices across Asia Pacific.

Frans Ditmer, general sales manager EMEA of Wacom Europe GmbH, comments: "This new co-operation with Ripple Effect is a very important step forward in the development of Wacom and shows our commitment to increase our local representation in major markets across our EMEA territory. We are looking forward to our new partnership with such a high profile team and we are confident that we can successfully move into other vertical markets as well as the consumer and professional creative markets."
