Pepsi to strip if Argentina wins

MONTEVIDEO, ARGENTINA: Following an announcement of Diego Maradona, in which he pledged to run round the streets of Buenos Aires naked should Argentina win the World Cup, Pepsi has decided to follow suit.

The company's soft drink bottles will be sold for a week in Argentina, without a label if the national team wins the tournament. Print ads are currently running in national press titles, depicting a label-less Pepsi bottle with a blue label fastened to the neck of the bottle that reads, "If the coach goes naked, we will, too. Pepsi promises."

Maradona, the often controversial football star is coaching his first World Cup team this year. In a recent radio interview, when asked how he would celebrate an Argentine victory, he replied that he would strip and run naked around the Obelisk, a landmark in the capital city of Buenos Aires.

In a recent stunt, Pepsi changed its name to Pecsi to better reflect the way Argentine-accented Spanish speakers pronounce the band.
