Woman's Value celebrates

Woman's Value commemorates a milestone 25th birthday issue in September with a special focus on celebrations and party planning.

Editor Terena le Roux says Woman's Value, published by Media24's Creative Living Magazines division, struck a passionate chord with its readers from the first issue in 1980: "Over the past 25 years it has gone from strength to strength and during the past year we have seen an increase in circulation, despite increased competition in the broader female market.

"Our readers love the magazine for its practical approach, creativity, endless stream of good ideas and useful tips that gratify their passion to be creative around the home. In addition to the monthly issues, we have successfully published a wonderful cookbook, No-fuss Food, a successful Complete Home Makeover book, and we have offered our advertisers the dream house competition as an innovative way of showcasing their products."

Woman's Value itself underwent a revamp and was relaunched in April this year with a redesigned layout. The size of the magazine also increased and the content was divided into eight easy to reference sections to assist the majority of readers who juggle home, family and work, but still want a creative outlet.

"Combined monthly sales of more than 155 000 for the first ABC period of 2005 now make Woman's Value and its translated Afrikaans sister publication dit collectively the highest selling women's interest title in South Africa," says Le Roux.

Woman's Value started out as a free customer magazine for Checkers and was later purchased by Nasionale Tydskrifte (now Media24). dit was launched four years ago in response to a strong demand for a new Afrikaans homecraft magazine. This title also underwent an extensive makeover earlier this year.
