Call for entries for the Arts & Culture Trust Awards 2003

The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) is calling for entries for the annual ACT Awards 2003, in association with Nedbank and Mail & Guardian.

These annual awards celebrate and recognise those who play an integral role in the development and promotion of arts, culture and creativity in South Africa.

The closing date for submissions is 25 July 2003.

This year, entry to the Awards does not require a third party nomination, and projects or individuals may enter themselves.

The Awards will be presented at a gala event in Johannesburg on 18 September 2003. This date has been chosen so that the awards are linked to the celebration of Heritage Day, one week later.

Entries will be considered in the following categories:

* Arts & Culture Administrator of the Year - Acknowledges a person in a cultural organisation, government or business community concerned primarily with the administration of arts and culture.

* Arts & Culture Journalist of the Year - Awarded to a South African radio, TV or print media journalist who regularly writes with excellence about the arts and culture.

* Media of the Year in Support of Arts & Culture, Internet and Print - Recognises a South African Internet service or a print publication that reports on, provides information about, or comments on matters affecting arts and culture.
