Retailers at a presentation by Ernst & Young and the Bureau of Economic Research have been urged to expect a lower Christmas sales growth rate this year. While higher income groups show stronger confidence and improved purchasing power, the confidence of lower income individuals has significantly decreased since the 1990's.
