Twitter cuts off political advertising on its platform
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has announced - via Twitter - that the microblogging and social networking service will no longer accept political advertising. With the 2020 presidential election in the United States approaching, political advertising on social media has been a hot topic in recent months.
We've made the decision to stop all political advertising on Twitter globally. We believe political message reach should be earned, not bought. Why? A few reasons...??
