It was an evening full of stars and surprises, with a special guest appearance by legendary actor, director and Sundance Institute founder and president Robert Redford, who introduced the GSMA's Mobile Entertainment Awards ahead of his keynote speech at the Mobile World Congress on Wednesday, 13 February 2008.
Awards were presented by actor, writer and producer Isabella Rossellini, Bollywood actress Sherlyn Chopra and, from the music world, Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am.

Winners in the Technology category provided presentations of their successful entries in a special session at the Mobile World Congress on Wednesday afternoon.
The Global Mobile Awards 2008 are sponsored by Qualcomm. Ericsson and Verisign are category sponsors.
