Will Smith to MC 46664 concert
Will Smith will be introducing artists including: Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor collaborating for the first time with Paul Rogers from the group Bad Company; Annie Lennox; Katie Melua; and India Arie. The best of local talent, also introduced by Will Smith, will be showcased at the concert, including: Johnny Clegg, Black Sunshine, Mafikizolo, Prime Circle, Art Matthews (of Just Jinger), Karen Zoid, Kabelo, Mel Botes, Mandoza and Danny K.
Mandela said that while the concert at Fancourt would be on a more modest scale than the 2003 launch event in Cape Town, it offered a wonderful opportunity for South Africans to show their commitment to fighting HIV/AIDS, and in particular to empowering women to fight the disease.
