Nordic countries and SA to explore 2010 opportunities

The Swedish Trade Council, in co-operation with the Swedish Embassy, is holding a seminar on Tuesday, 19 September 2006, to highlight opportunities for exchange between South African business role-players in the 2010 Soccer World Cup and representatives from the Nordic business communities (Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark and Norway).

Says Swedish ambassador Anders Möllander, "The high-level presentations will cover a number of opportunities for ongoing business deals and the establishment of new and mutually beneficial partnerships between South African and Nordic companies.

"We will outline the gaps and challenges within the local marketplace as well as divulge information on sectors where opportunities exist, including public transportation, stadium upgrades, ICT, broadcasting and infrastructure, amongst others."

The full-day seminar will be held from 9pm at the Sandton Convention Centre and will be moderated by Tim Modise.
