The Dogstar Awards will be presented in association with Screen Africa in August in Cape Town and are fully endorsed by the Commercial Producers Association. The event will be organised by Julie Coghlan of Gecko Productions, who has organised the MultiChoice VUKA! Awards for the past four years and has an extensive background in commercials production.
The awards will be open only to South African residents and production companies. It will be divided into two main sections: the first will consider only entries which relate to television and film commercials made for South Africa, while the second component of the awards made by South Africans will accept entries from South Africans and production companies that have worked on international commercials screened in countries abroad.
Entries in the various categories will only qualify if the commercial was produced for flighting on television and/or cinema and completed during the period 1 January 2001 to 1 January 2003. The categories in the local and international commercials sections will cover key craft areas.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: 17h00 on MONDAY, 30 JUNE, 2003. Late entries will not be accepted
