Launched in South Africa in 2015 (and in Nigeria and Kenya in 2016), Digify Bytes is designed to open a new world of opportunities where digital skills provide youth with both personal and professional advantages that can create new pathways in education, employment and empowerment. Since August, Digify Bytes courses have been offered at local universities, colleges, high schools, youth organisations and community groups throughout the country. Courses are offered free to both participants and host organisations.

“We are excited about hosting one of our largest Digify Bytes sessions to-date in South Africa. The goal of the event is to reach as many young people as possible, as we aim to tackle South Africa’s youth unemployment rate by up-skilling youth and enlightening them about the endless opportunities that can be unlocked with the use of basic digital skills,” said Sherry Dzinoreva, program director, Digify Africa.
