EPNET launches unique new communications software for the office

Electronic Publishing Network has launched a new communication software system, which enables people to work smarter, quicker and more effectively. Called The Receptionist it promises to improve service, reduce costs, and add value to a business.

It has been designed using three technologies, text, e-mail and SMS. It is a complete communications system so that no one need ever be out of touch with the office, and is vital for a receptionist, sales, customer service, marketing, and accounts departments and every staff member in the company.

It all starts at the company's receptionist, who is able to send anyone in the office a 'sticky note', so while you are out all your callers' messages, are neatly sent through to your computer screen.

You are able to create notes of important events or meetings and can request an e-mail or SMS reminder on any date or time that suites you. If you need to remember something in two days or two years time it will remind you.

Gordon Barker, head of product development says; "Companies only really have e-mail for electronic communication but there is much more that can be done with technology to improve efficiency. As many people in the office are not always behind a computer screen the technology leverages cell phones as a paging system, making it truly mobile, being Internet based it can be connected to a company web site as well, so if you want to receive sales calls off your web site and are in your car hundreds of kilometers away from the office you will get the message ".

"Other advantages are that the system has been created for people on the go who need to converge appointments or messages made from a number of different sources, (secretary, boss, wife, or web site visitor), into a single place; which may be securely accessed from anywhere, in the office, at home or in New York!"

"It is also a tool that may be used for managing customer relationships as you are able to store hundreds of thousands of people in any number of databases on the system and send out well designed e-mail or SMS messages whenever you wish, the information is stored on your own computer so confidentiality is guaranteed".

"We have spent a large amount of time designing the interface to make it very user friendly, anyone who can use e-mail can use it."

"The whole thinking behind the product is to keep everyone in the office in touch with each other as well as customers and suppliers, a truly unique concept – it is all about delivering information to you when and where you need it."
