SABC reacts to press speculation over Molefe's leave
He added that it is of concern that there are three speculations as to the reasons and all of them state they are quoting sources from the SABC. This is said to be an indication that either the newspapers are creating the sources or their sources are not as reliable as they claim them to be.
Misinformed reactions
The statement continues that it is a sad day when speculation is used as a basis for misinformed reactions from any stakeholder. The statement by the ANC Youth League is based on wrong information that is speculated by the newspaper. It is also surprising that the ANC Youth League has not even bothered to talk to the SABC, before they issued the statement, in order for them to get the real facts.
The reasons behind Molefe's leave have nothing to do with the ANC Youth League, according to the SABC, and there is indeed no intention to silence them as they allege in their statement. The issues leading to him being placed on leave are confidential and will not be divulged.
