For more:
- Times Live: SABC begins hunt for CEO... Do YOU have what it takes to be the SABC's new CEO? Do you know the broadcast industry? Are you averse to leaving before your contract is up (with a little payout, naturally)? Are you averse to being paid a fat salary - with perks, of course? If you can answer 'No!' to these questions, who knows, you could be rubbing shoulders with the Minister of Communications before you can say 'Yes, Minister.' Apply now to avoid disappointment. On a more serious note: we can only hope that the next CEO will not only know the industry but also have the right qualities - integrity, management and financial skills, experience etc - to not only do the job properly, and also last the full term - and turn the SABC into an unbiased reporter of news, rather than what it is now and has just been ... a 'solly' maker of news (for all the wrong reasons). Well, we can hope, can't we? What we do not want is another CEO who will allow the unchecked 'snukification' of news, and will ensure that managers and personnel do their jobs properly. Right?
