Mashishi thanked the Ogilvy Board for their confidence in his abilities, saying that it was a source of inspiration: "I am passionate about Ogilvy and I am passionate about Africa, but most significantly, I am excited about what we can do for our clients and their brands in Africa once we understand the synergies between the two."
Little, who is excited about the prospect of working with Mashishi to grow the African network, believes that Mashishi brings with him valuable insight into business from what he terms 'an African Renaissance point of view'.
"Not only is Moss an astute businessman and a top marketer, but he's also personally committed to the growth and prosperity of this continent," says Little.
"From a client liaison point of view, at the most senior levels, Moss will be a tremendous asset."
Mashishi is currently executive chairman of Matemeku Investments and former CEO of South African Tourism and the Johannesburg World Summit. He also chaired the Association of Marketers (ASOM) and is currently vice chairperson of the Marketing Federation of South Africa (MFSA).
