Wegbreek appoints two new feature editors
New Media has appointed Albertus van Wyk and Jaco Kirsten as Features Editor for Wegbreek, South Africa's first bi-monthly Afrikaans outdoor and travel magazine.
Prior to his recent appointment, Van Wyk was a member of the editorial team responsible for the successful revamp of South Africa's oldest magazine title, Farmer's Weekly. Van Wyk's CV also boasts a successful stretch with radiosondergrense's leading actuality programme, Monitor. A University of Stellenbosch graduate, Van Wyk began his journalism career as editor of the student newspaper Die Matie.
Kirsten, who began his career at Volksblad, also worked as a copywriter in the advertising industry before joining Die Burger in 2000. More recently Kirsten has edited Die Burger's weekly motoring supplement and has written a column in for Wegbreek since its inception. Kirsten will, amongst other duties, oversee Wegbreek's motoring pages within his new role.
