The death and funeral arrangements of former Zimbabwean leader, Robert Mugabe, was on top of South Africans' minds. Meanwhile, the country's leader, President Cyril Ramaphosa, has been apologising to the Nigerians who left the country following the recent spate of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
While not apologising, the president is still trying to calm the storm regarding the #RamaphosaLeaks situation. In the other camp, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema will face the music as the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) takes him to court over what it calls hate speech.
Malema also has to answer to claims by the amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism that it has proof that Malema took bribes from VBS.

South Africans are still buying into the conspiracy theory that there was more than meets the eye in the death of Gavin Watson. The news that the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg ruled that parts of Rica are unconstitutional had everyone in a tizzy.
And, on a lighter but still bleak note, the start of Springboks' Rugby World Cup campaign has the country super interested - the Boks lost to New Zealand in the team's opening World Cup match.
