#FMAdFocus2020 - Triple Eight named Agency of the Year, again
Marketing, PR and digital agency, Triple Eight, has been named as the Agency of the Year at the 2020 FM AdFocus Awards, walking away with the title for the second time having won it in 2019. The agency was also named Specialist Agency of the Year and took home the Transformation and African Impact Awards.
This year's FM Creative Challenge Award went to King James for their 'black lives don't matter' ad for Blackboard Organisation. Other winners include Rogerwilco, who won the Small Agency of the Year, Duke (Medium Agency of the Year) and Joe Public (Large Agency of the Year)....

SheSays held its first event of the year last week
Global network for women in advertising and creative industries, SheSays, held its first Cape Town event of 2020 on 10 March. SheSays Cape Town co-director Anelde Greeff moderated the panel, which included head of marketing and communications at Zeitz Mocaa Annicia Manyaapelo, CEO of RushTush Rushda Moosajee and media consultant and author Vanessa Raphaely. The panellists shared ideas and stories on reinvention, handling failure, and staying motivated, creative and innovative.

TBWA\Helsinki unveils meme-inspired campaign for Nissan Nordic Europe
TBWA\Helsinki's latest ad campaign for Nissan Nordic Europe pokes fun at Finnish commuters' extended need for personal space at bus stops. The campaign images are inspired by the internet meme in which Finnish commuters are seen standing at regular intervals avoiding all interaction.

Nissan's Nordic Europe division uses the bus stop scenes to highlight their automatic distance control that regulates safety distance on the road.

TBWA\ Africa Conference 2019
TBWA\ recently hosted its annual Africa Conference which attracts industry leaders from its agencies across the continent. The TBWA\ African collective comprises of 47 offices in 28 markets, who gathered under the theme of #DISRUPT to share insights on techniques and trends, including strategic collaboration, to explore creativity as a growth engine and to analyse innovative approaches in disciplines such as 4IR and technology in Africa. "We plan to maintain momentum into 2020. MenaCal.7's 'Woman to the bone' campaign highlights osteoporosis
To mark World Osteoporosis Day on 20 October, South African calcium supplement MenaCal.7 released its 'Woman to the bone' campaign. The campaign - which features leading South African women Leanne Manas, Amy Kleinhans-Curd and Refiloe Seseane - aims to raise awareness of osteoporosis as well as the role South African women play in building a strong nation.

While it takes a stance on the contribution of South African women in society, it also tackles the irony that women's bones are more susceptible to calcium deficiency due to factors such as pregnancy and menopause - which lead to bone weakness....

Rare insight offered to creatives at LIA's Rare Access Workshop

A total of 173 Pencils were handed out at the 2019 D&AD New Blood Awards, which was held in London, England. Representing South African talent, Bernice Puleng Mosala of Vega School in Johannesburg received a Yellow Pencil for her Rexona #MoveAgainstAnxiety campaign.
