SAFM VS Talk Radio 702

Who Kick's butt?

The big question would be, is it really fair to compare the two?
Well…one would say yes because they are both in the business of talk radio, correct?

First let's have a look at SAFM. Of critical importance with them is that they are a SABC radio station of which immediately strips them (presenters) of any opinions they might be harboring. In simple terms, as a talk show host your opinion is surplus to requirements and if you try to be smart and tell the listener what you think, I guess you would want to ask John Perlman as to what happens to your kind.

You get paid to ask the questions that the listener wants to know the answers to (I don't know where they get those because nobody has ever asked me what my view was on any matter).

Moving to 702. Talk Radio 702 is a business, in actual fact it has been reported that it is the more profitable of the two. Here it is the exact opposite of what happens on SAFM, presenters get paid for their opinion, for instance, everybody knows what Redi Direko's views are with regards to Jacob Zuma and the same can also be said about Kieno Kammies (you either love them or hate them for that, but never in the middle).

Do you know what are Tsepiso Makwetla and Tebogo Matima's views regarding Helen Zille?

I guess that should explain why the one is “South Africa's News and Information Leader” and the other is “Your No. 1 News and Talk Station”

Do we REALLY need to compare the two radio stations?
