New South African film in October

"Our choice of films released reflects our desire to grow cinema going audiences and to widen the range of films available," says Matatu.
Key to the success is its ability to build strong, cost effective campaigns. By creating partnerships with various stakeholders, such as Pick n Pay, Investec and WWF, the company leveraged R1 million plus marketing campaign for this release. "Coming from a producer background, our deals are designed in such a way that producers and investors see money flowing back as early as possible" adds Young. "We like to get on board as early as possible. We can act as executive producers and on the right projects we are able to provide finance in the form of MGs."
Upcoming projects include documentaries and features from across the continent and it is actively producing features, including three new films with Jerusalema director Ralph Ziman and Black South-Easter with Carey McKenzie.
"Whilst we are open to content from everywhere, we specialise in local film and African film," concludes Matatu.
