2010 EXSA conference bookings open

Bookings are now open for the 2010 EXSA conference on 21 - 23 February 2010 at the Amanzingwe Lodge, Pelindaba Road (R512) Broederstroom. Delegates can arrive on Sunday 21 February and enjoy a game drive or walk with the elephants or drive through first thing on Monday 22 February.

"Delegates will be given the bush experience - within an hour or so from Sandton,” said Sue Gannon at the EXSA office. "The board felt the need to get out of the city for a day or two to hear and discuss some of the very important issues relating to the exhibition and event industry for 2010 going forward into the new decade. The theme for the conference will be EXSA 30 years on and beyond 2010 - the next decade."

The conference and AGM will take place on 22 February and amongst the important issues on the programme are:

  • EXSA 30 years on
  • New Labour Law - labour brokers, overtime, contract employees etc
  • BEE Codes - latest information
  • Safety & Health - disaster management and new event laws
  • Economy in 2010 - Future Business
  • Greening - where to from here?
  • Skills Development - industry regulations and potential rewards
  • Marketing trends - technical trends - creating on-line business
  • Fraud - how to avoid it happening to you

On Monday evening, there will be the banquet with a guest speaker.

Workshop - futures, mergers

On Tuesday 23 February, there is a workshop open to all EXSA members and non-members in the industry to discuss the way forward for EXSA and feedback on the possible merger with SAACI. The conference will close after lunch on Tuesday.

Amanzingwe Lodge is a five-star conference venue and right next door there is the Glen Afric Game Reserve, which has the Big Five. Delegates will have the option of various accommodation choices from a luxury suite, hotel/lodge room, or even a tented bedroom in the bush. The lodge is only 20 minutes from Lanseria Airport with direct Kulula flights from both Cape Town and Durban.
