eStokini rolled out in Soweto

Five eStokini (gathering place) units are already up and running in and around Soweto and the Edcon Group, specifically Jet Club, has decided to roll out with the concept which it put on trial for a short time earlier this year.

eStokini brings newspapers, fast food, television entertainment and a protected gathering place, as well as a powerful branding message, to township communities - where they live.

Jet Club's marketing manager Tessa White says: "Going to the sites and meeting the people working in these units was an inspiration. To see them being so passionate about their jobs and knowing that we're helping them to bring a small service to the bigger community was great.

"Jet Club strives to improve people's lives, and eStokini gives us the ability to do that. We realise that there is a lot of potential with these units. In addition, eStokini's allow us to take new account business to the people in a very immediate and convenient format."

Another five units will be ready for erection in about a month. This takes the number of outdoor viewing points which CTN Stokvel TV now has to 10.

CTN Television CEO, Vanessa du Plessis says: "eStokini's allow the classical marketing format to happen - all five senses are stimulated to experience one brand in one place. Suitable products and services can retail on the spot whilst the full spectrum of media is available to clients; print, TV and promotions at each eStokini. All this whilst your brand creates jobs for the community. It has to work."
