SABC teaches kids to make money

SABC Education and SABC1 in association with the Post Office and Post Bank are launching a children's reality TV series called YoBiz. In the series four groups made up of primary school children will participate by starting and running their own businesses over 13 weeks. Each group will be given R5 000 by Post Bank to get their businesses off the ground.

At the end of the 13 weeks, a winning group will be selected by a panel of judges and votes from the viewing public. The winning team will walk away with R10 000 and the money they made with their business. Their school will also receive a R10 000 cash prize and other sponsored prizes.

Joe Nkosi brand manager at SABC Education says : "If we give you R5000 to start a business with three friends, what will you do? Maybe you'll make beautiful arts and crafts; or grow your own vegetables; or open your own spaza shop? If you're between 10 and 12 years old, get your buddies together and think of cool ways to make money."

Entry form at the Post Office or any SABC Regional office and closing date for entries is 15 November 2005. Visit www.yobiz.tv for more info.
