Video Jockey auditions in July for MTV Base

To track down the TV star of the future, MTV Base talent scouts are to hold auditions in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg in July 2012, with one winner becoming the new VJ (video jockey or TV presenter) for the youth entertainment channel.

The new VJ will become one of the key faces of the music network, hosting programmes, interviewing stars, emceeing entertainment events, walking the red carpet and travelling all over the continent.

Celebrity judges analysing the contestants on their potential will be SABC Live presenter Bonang Matheba; Hip-Hop star HHP; TV presenter and DJ Azania Mosaka and MTV creative director Tim Horwood.

The search is open to South Africans aged between 18-25, who speak fluent English and who have a clean criminal record. Prior presenting or TV experience is not required. Applicants must be available to participate in the elimination phases of the competition 24-28 July 2012.


Registration opens at 9am and applicants are encouraged to arrive early.
