567 Cape Talk celebrates 16 years of faith, hope and love

"16 years ago our talk station took to the air and has become a credible force to be reckoned with," says Primedia Broadcasting station manager, Colleen Louw.

The station shares many heartfelt and inspirational stories on a daily basis and often the most moving and memorable ones are those where the listeners played an active role to help.

Not only a talk station

Earlier this year, ice cream vendor, Luke Dorsi was robbed on the Sea Point Promenade, had his face smashed and lost all his teeth in the robbery. The station's listeners came to the party, especially dentist Dr Mark Scher who donated Luke a set of permanent implants, allowing Luke to smile again.

Inkwenkwezi High School in Dunoon was preparing for its matric dance in September but it wasn't a happy time as the girls at the school could not afford dresses for the special occasion. School secretary, Sharron Qamaya emailed the station for assistance. 20 year old Amy Swartz heard the plea and donated dresses to the learners, through her Belle of The Ball initiative and the Cinderella tale materialised into a beautiful evening.

"We would like to thank everyone who's helped make the past year a successful one. We are a talk station, but ultimately it is our listeners who help us to walk the talk and bring about change on the ground," said Louw.
