In 2009, the RAMP Foundation, recognising the need to build a culture of innovation, specifically in the area of technology, launched Africa’s best loved technology and innovation conference, NetProphet. We are joined by Adrian Bush, director of Ramp Foundation, to find out more about the event. We get a quick history of the NetProphet event, the objectives of the event and all the initiatives happening next week in Cape Town namely SparkUp Live, and NetProphet Works and FireSide. We also look at who should be attending the event and the speakers at this year’s event, as well as look at what 2017 holds for NetProphet, the not to be missed event on the tech calendar.

Then later in the show we were joined in studio by Rian Bornman, founder of FlightSite, the second largest online travel agency in South Africa in 2008 (FlightSiteAgent launched in 2013) and today it enjoys a healthy turnover of R250m a year. We look at the history and growth of Flightsite and FlighSiteAgent and the lessons Rian learnt along the way. We chatted about how technology has changed the travel and hospitality industry drastically over the last few years and how to identify gaps in the market We also spoke about taking risks, looking for investment and not giving up.
