Banking on pots of money

For the first time in the history of South African soccer, Absa, the new sponsors of the Premier Soccer League, will award a total of R29 450 000 in prize money to the 16 teams participating in the Absa Premiership. This amount is three times more than the previous prize money pot.

The team that will be crowned the Absa Premiership Champions, will collect a whopping R10 million. This prize pot is one of the many incentives that the Absa Premiership will be offering to clubs in its mandate to develop and enhance the quality of local football and encourage exciting play during the season.

“The Premier Soccer League is proud to have a sponsor like Absa on board. Since the beginning of our partnership, it has been tremendous to see our relationship grow in leaps and bounds. Their commitment to soccer and its development is evident in terms of the prize money they are awarding,” says Kjetil Siem, CEO of the Premier Soccer League.
