Weg shines at ADMag Awards

At the ADmag Awards last night, 6 April 2006, Bun Booyens, editor of Weg, took the hotly contested Editor of the Year title and Magazine of the Year went to Weg as well. Upper Case Media received Publisher of the Year, with Best International Magazine of the Year being awarded to its title, heat; Newcomer of the Year went to Woman & Home.

Recruitment specialist Ad Talent claimed the new category of this year's awards - Best Advert in ADvantage.

The ADmag Awards, hosted and initiated by John Farquhar and the editorial team of ADvantage, identify and honour ABC-certified consumer magazines that stand head and shoulders above their competitors.

The panel of judges consisted of Melanie Walters, media director, Starcom; Janet Proudfoot, AIS/ADEX director, Nielsen Media Research; Ron Derby, media correspondent, Business Day; Michelle Meyjes, managing director, Mediaedge: CIA; Jacques Breytenbach, managing director, Primedia Publishing; Gillian Jones, managing editor, Marketing Web; and John Farquhar, editor-in-chief, ADvantage magazine.
