    More awards for Sarie

Sarie journalists have this year been awarded no less than three out of four ATKV-Mediaveertjies in the Magazine category for print media. Awarded by the Afrikaans Language & Cultural Society, the ATKV-Mediaveertjies honour great achievements in different areas of the Afrikaans media.

“To win 3 out of 4 possible Mediaveertjies for magazines is a great feather in the cap,” says Sarie editor Michélle van Breda. “The fact that it is in such varied categories, from investigative journalism to finances and relaxation, shows the versatility of Sarie journalists, and the high quality of Sarie content over a broad spectrum. And all this is in Afrikaans, the language that keeps inspiring us!”

Lydia van der Merwe impressed this year's judges with her article: ‘SA se beroepsmense swig voor opkikkers en dwelms' in the In-depth articles/Investigative journalism category. This article refers to professionals succumbing to uppers and drugs.

Riette Rust was awarded two ATKV-Mediaveertjies in two separate categories - Business and Personal Finances, for her article: ‘Onder 35. Jonk-jonk geldslim' (Under 35 and money wise) and in the Entertainment and Relaxation category for her article: ‘Ontmoet die nuwe grotman' (Meet the new caveman). All these articles appeared in Sarie in 2007.

Published by woman360, Sarie was also awarded gold recently for the second consecutive year in the AdVantage ADmag Awards in the category Best Women's Magazine (24 - 35) for 2007. The magazine was judged on its content, production values, appearance, circulation and advertising support
