Cricket fever is a Big Issue

Expect the Big Issue to be out in force, on the streets, where their vendors will take full advantage of the cricket fever that has gripped South Africa. In addition to this, they have devoted almost all their editorial to the ICC Cricket World Cup.

With an estimated 25 000 foreign cricket fans and 2 000 journalists gracing our shores over the next six weeks, Big Issue vendors plan to capitalise on this opportunity. In fact the Big Issue has devoted almost all its editorial to the ICC Cricket World Cup and has negotiated pitches outside of the stadiums to ensure that sellers can reach both local and international fans during peak times.

"We have already noted the increase in sales, when comparing this years figures to the same time last year," commented Hooper, social worker at Big Issue.
