Oscar's social media hell

NEWSWATCH: Comments on social media about Oscar Pistorius and the killing of Reeva Steenkamp have turned his life into a living hell, reports Times Live. Mail & Guardian reports the row between Icasa and Wireless Business Solutions has become ugly, and IOL reports Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is going into politics.

  • Times Live: Social media comments 'disturb' Pistorius family... Some observers might be forgiven for thinking this country is absolutely alive with legal eagles - given the tone of many of the social media comments in which those posting them have apparently had the legal know-how to try, judge and sentence Pistorius. And this is all before he has even come to trial.

So it's not surprising that the family is less than happy with what they view as "the disregard that is being shown by some - specifically those commenting via social media - for the profound pain that Reeva's family and friends are going through". They are not the only ones... there are some people out there who are also not happy with what they view as a "trial by social media" (see also Pist off by Pistorius tweets).

  • Mail & Guardian: Fury and ire fuel Icasa-WBS fire... Icasa finally went out and took action against Wireless Business Solutions (WBS). Since then, the spat has taken on a distinctly ugly aspect.

  • IOL: Zuckerberg enters world of politics... Forward with Zuckerberg... He has joined other leaders in Silicon Valley and launched a political group - Fwd.us (pronounced "forward us").

Their aim is to change immigration policy, boost education and encourage investment in scientific research.
