Jobs.co.za introduces LinkedIn CV portal

Following research on the internet and social media platforms, Jobs.co.za has released its LinkedIn Profile registration feature to facilitate instant CV registration on its platform for over 2 million connected South African members, many of them holding senior or executive corporate level positions.

The research showed that out of more than 500 respondents, 74% said that they mostly use the internet to search and apply for jobs, while 57% use it for social networking (Facebook) and 35% for professional networking (LinkedIn). 47% of respondents are logging in several times per day - 45% from home and 55% from work - to mostly perform these functions online.

By implementing the LinkedIn API, the recruitment agency uses the individual's information available via the LinkedIn account to register on its website, thereby streamlining the user experience and expanding the agency's footprint to a network of professional passive talent. The site expects an increase in new visitors, currently around 200 000 per month.

Workshop on social recruitment strategies

As a socially active website, it has launched a workshop for recruitment and hiring managers to assist them in devising their own social recruitment strategies. It also runs workshops to assist job seekers in building up a credible reputation online and on social networks to further aid them in positioning themselves as experts when applying for positions.
