Strategic appointments at Tshirundu

Tshirundu Communications, the new integrated communications solutions company incorporating Graphicor and Simeka, recently appointed Nkosazana Tengimfene as MD of Simeka TWS and Kenny Mokoka as FD of the group. Both also join the Tshirundu board as executive directors along with Lebo Keswa, who was appointed business development director in October 2006.

"Our growth strategy is taking shape and the appointments are a sign of great things to come. The new appointments will enhance the already strong team and lead to sustainable growth," says Onkgopotse JJ Tabane, the Group CEO of Tshirundu Communications.

Right caliber

"I am confident that the right calibre of executives has been appointed to ensure a new direction for the company and I am positive that they will add great value."

Tengimfene brings with her a wealth of experience, having been director of public affairs at the University of the Western Cape. She also worked at the University of Cape Town, where she held the positions of Executive Management and special advisor to the vice chancellor.

"My first task will be to position Simeka TWS as the preferred integrated communications consultancy both locally and abroad. I aim to ensure the profitability of Simeka TWS that will position the company to greater heights," says Tengimfene.

Vibrant team

Tengimfene will lead a vibrant new Simeka team which includes the former head of e.tv and SABC TV news, Charles Leonard, who was appointed in October last year as well as former Home Affairs head of communications, Nkosana Sibuyi, appointed in December last year .

Kenny Mokoka is an experienced chartered accountant, having held similar positions at the Road Accident Fund and Pfizer. His key role will be to ensure that systems are in place for the effective management of all accounts. Mokoka will focus on steering a financial viability and investment strategy for Tshirundu to guarantee its long-term sustainability.

Mokoka states that he is honoured to be part of a young dynamic organisation which is growing at a very fast rate. "I believe that the opportunities for Tshirundu are unlimited and I am hoping to make a contribution to its success," he says.

Meanwhile, Tshirundu continues to grow beyond the two founder companies: Moneybizz is now a member of the group and a deal with a digital company, soon to be named, was recently concluded.
