Apollo Film Festival scriptwriting course

The SA Scriptwriters' Association and the Apollo Film Festival is offering a chance for 15 successful applicants aged between 18 and 30 to join an introductory scriptwriting course and learn the ins and outs of script development and analysis.

Now you can join an INTRODUCTORY SCRIPTWRITING COURSE and learn the ins and outs of script development and analysis. You'll also discover and develop your own talent, and learn how to turn worthwhile stories into worthwhile scripts.

The course is to be held at the Apollo Theatre in Victoria West from Monday 15 September to Friday 19 September 2003.

The course is being offered by the nationally acclaimed Apollo Film Festival - in association with the SASWA (the South African Scriptwriters' Association). An added attraction is that the course finishes the day before the 2003 Apollo Film Festival begins. Stay an extra few days - or the full festival week - and see the best features, short films, documentaries and student work the country currently has to offer.

The scriptwriting course is to be limited to 15 participants aged between 18 and 30 years. All entries must be accompanied by a 4 to 6 page outline, as well as a short motivation and CV. A non-refundable R25 fee must accompany each entry to cover the cost of having the outline read and evaluated.

Now for the good news. For the successful applicants, the actual course costs just R25.00 - all five days of it. There's also a travel subsidy, based on distance. Even accommodation can be subsidised for really needy entrants.

For more information and entry forms, see the Apollo's website www.apollotheatre.co.za. Or telephone Gail Robbins on 082-5721682. For accommodation reservations in Victoria West, telephone Clare-Rose at the Apollo 053-6211185.
