Today's youth are very technology savvy and the first to grasp on to a new trend – be it iPods, video on your mobile phone or YouTube. They've got their finger on the pulse and so it was only natural that we targeted the youth market for this promotion,” says Ravi Naidoo, 94.7 station manager.
“We are looking for creativity. It doesn't have to be a professional piece but it must depict their views on what Top 8@8 means to our listeners. We want the youth to think out of the box, while keeping things simple.”
Participants can enter via email, FTP site or drop their entries off at Primedia Place, 5 Gwen Lane, Sandown, Johannesburg. All commercials must be a maximum length of 45 seconds.
The Rude Awakening will announce the best five videos, which will then be posted onto the web for voting. Listeners who did not participate in submitting videos will then get their chance to win as they vote for their favourite videos during this week. One lucky voter will get a R10 000 cash prize.
