Dogstar Awards for commercials production takes off
The first Dogstar Awards specially conceived by Screen Africa and Gecko Productions to pay tribute to the commercials production industry continues to draw a favourable response from directors, DOPs and technicians.
The award, endorsed by the Commercials Producers Association is open to any commercial produced for broadcast on television and/or cinema and completed during the period 1 January 2001 to 1 January 2003.
What does it cost to enter? First Commercial Production Entry: R1 350. Second Entry: R900. All entries thereafter: R700 per commercial
All craft entries are R180 per nominated craft category in the entered commercial production.
Craft categories include: * Best camera movement * Best lighting design * Best original music * Best original sound design * Best on camera special effects * Best stunt * Best creative direction for editing * Best digital artwork * Best animation * Best art director * Best wardrobe * Best make-up * Best young director
Main award categories include: Made for South Africa (work produced for the South African market by a South African production company); and Made by South Africa (work produced for an international market by a South African production company, and/or using South African skills).
