Dulux offers easy prep metal paint
Dulux offers Hammerite, a specialist metal paint that can be applied directly onto metal without the need for a primer and undercoat first. Perfect for use on metals that rust such as iron or steel, as well as galvanised steel, copper and brass, these paints require minimal surface preparation before application. Due to its strong adhesive and optimised viscous properties, its application ensures a substantial barrier coating that keeps oxygen and water away from the substrate. Water-resistant, sealing out moisture, quick drying and rainproof in two hours, the paint is all about long-lasting metal care. With conventional surfaces, rain remains on the surface increasing the risk of rust and decay. This product causes rain to run off the surface, creating a tough barrier that resists knocks and scrapes. Its advanced silicone technology that forms a tough barrier also makes it ideal for use in bathrooms and kitchens.
Exterior metals including gates, railings, drainpipes and outdoor lamps can be brought back to life with its advanced corrosion resistance.
