SA retail sales rise 3.3% in November
The main positive contributors to this increase were: retailers in textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods (10.3% and contributing 1.8 percentage points); and general dealers (3.6% and contributing 1.5 percentage points).
Seasonally adjusted retail trade sales increased by 1.9% in November 2021 compared with October 2021. This followed month-on-month changes of -1.3% in October 2021 and 5.2% in September 2021. In the three months ended November 2021, seasonally adjusted retail trade sales increased by 4.1% compared with the previous three months.
Retail trade sales increased by 2.5% in the three months ended November 2021 compared with the three months ended November 2020. The main positive contributor to this increase was retailers in textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods (9.3% and contributing 1.5 percentage points).
