The company was acknowledged for its innovative use of technology to develop and enhance existing business practices through its proprietary control panel, konsoleH.

Hetzner helped to pioneer web hosting in South Africa, launching its services in 1999. Today the company hosts over 32 000 active domains with fully-equipped data centres in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
