Having viral fun with Braai Day
With just over two weeks to go until National Braai Day on Heritage Day, Nicholas Smal and Gareth Allison, also known as 'Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues' have posted a music video entitled Braaiday, a parody of Rebecca Black's infamous viral video hit, Friday, by adding a distinctly South African flavour. It has since gone viral on Facebook, Twitter, and other content-sharing sites. [video]
Smal is a Cape Town musician in two bands, Gravity Wins Again and Versus The Wolf and works as an animator/designer at local firm, Masters & Savant. Allison is also part of Gravity Wins Again and is a freelance website designer.
The release of this song follows on the heels of the release of the chart-topping National Braai Day Anthem by Die Heuwels Fantasties, JR, HHP and Soweto Gospel Choir.
