New sales structure for Primedia Broadcasting

Primedia Broadcasting has restructured its sales team as part of its strategy of developing a more customer-centric operation across its four premium brands, Talk Radio 702, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 567 CapeTalk and Kfm 94.5. "We're taking our sales operation to a new level - it's a move backed up by an investment in systems and processes that support a stronger focus on our advertisers and their agencies," explains Terry Volkwyn, Primedia Broadcasting chief executive officer.

Jenni Critchfield, previously employed as sales manager: Johannesburg, moves into the position of group sales strategic head, working across all four stations. In essence, the position sees Critchfield heading up a new resource centre for sales in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

According to Primedia Broadcasting group general manager, Ryan Till, this dedicated unit will work closely with the existing sales team. "The new resource centre will work strategically with sales to ensure that we know where our future business is coming from, and that the sales team has the right resources to achieve this business," says Till.

Toni Bowker, previously agency sales manager: Johannesburg, has been appointed sales manager: Johannesburg. The entire Johannesburg sales team including agencies, direct, the sales management team and administration now falls under Bowker.

Also in Johannesburg, the agency team has been structured into three agency business units, which have been developed to better service Primedia Broadcasting's clients and their agencies.

"We know from our industry research that successful business opportunities come from the best business relationships - and that's what we're gearing ourselves up for: stronger relationships with our clients, understanding their business better ...and in general, building better partnerships," adds Till.

Each new agency business unit has a separate leader. Gail Harris and Ernest Machaba, both former agency account executives, and Anthony Popper, former marketing services co-ordinator, take up these three new positions.

Concludes Volkwyn, "All the people involved in these moves have enormous experience and I'm delighted that they're leading this process forward. As always, I welcome feedback from our clients as the process rolls out."
