Enter MOP6 as part of World Design Capital 2014

The sixth edition of the Cape Town Month of Photography (MOP6) will coincide with the World Design Capital 2014 festivities in October 2014.

Under the theme 'Designing Destiny: Power within and outside the Frame', the South African Centre for Photography is calling for local, national and international submission.

The proposals should offer interesting and unusual showcases, installations, interventions and new media projects or collaborations between photographers and artists of other disciplines. Traditional photography of quality and depth is also invited, if never before shown publically in Cape Town.

A prize for the best new body of work will also be presented.

MOP6 will play out in the inner and outer city precincts of Cape Town, within official Arts & Culture spaces, top galleries, city commercial venues and other informal hot spots from mid-September to 31 October 2014.

The South African Centre for Photography, a collaborative non-profit entity, facilitates a variety of partnered projects, showcases, classes and mentorships throughout the year. For its showcase during Cape Town's reign as the second Design Capital of the World, the Centre has committed to run two outreach visual literacy programmes and a 3-4 month high end masterclass where image-related projects will be built up to showcase on MOP6.

Submission is not free; however, no one will be excluded because of lack of funds.
