Workshop on Day After TV Ratings

AMASA is running a workshop to coincide with the imminent arrival of Day After TV Ratings (DAR's) in South Africa. This pending new audience delivery system has been the industry's hottest media issue and the talk of the town amongst all interested and affected industry players.

Currently data is packaged on a weekly basis and delivered to the industry a couple of weeks after flighting. With the arrival of DAR's, audience figures will be delivered overnight.

At the October Advertising Media Association of South Africa (AMASA) meeting, the last one for 2005, the new system - due to be launched in July 2006 - will be debated, including the hype and concerns surrounding the new model.

Chris Eyre, Managing Director of AGB Nielsen Media Research (in charge of gathering the data), Chris Brewer, Managing Director of Interactive Market Systems (whose company processes and packages the data) and Brian McMillan, Media Consultant (who advises on how to use the data) will address AMASA on the progress made on the new audience delivery system, the impact it will have on media planners and the industry as well as expected changes that will need to be implemented by all industry players involved.

The session takes place on 05 October 2005 at JSE, Village Walk, Sandown, at 4.30pm. AMASA members are free, non-members pay R50.00.
