Former SAB exec for Transnet's East London Port

According to Allafrica.com, Transnet appointed a new executive head for its East London Port. Khethokuhle Nyawose has been appointed assistant terminal executive manager for East London's multi-purpose terminals. He takes on the position left vacant by Robert van Rooyen, who was promoted to assistant terminal executive manager for the Port Elizabeth multi-purpose terminals last year.

Nyawose says that the East London terminal stands to benefit from the "exciting economic developments within the province, coupled with Transnet's market demand strategy." This, he says, "will present the East London terminal with invaluable volume growth and diversification opportunities," according to Allafrica.com.

Nyawose's last role was operations services manager for the central region at South African Breweries. Currently he is completing his final year of an MBA degree at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). The company says that Nyawose - a person with extensive background in business management - will be responsible for the overall management of one of the country's most efficient terminals, comprising automotive, multi-purpose and agricultural cargo handling facilities, Allafrica.com reports.
